Comparison of Time Space and Geographical Space

Abstract

The paper gives a general outline about the features of various spaces. The main difficulties of the visualization of non-geographical spaces stem from the fact, that mostly they have non-metric characteristics. The paper examines the connections between time spaces and geographical spaces and the visualisation of time spaces. We demonstrate the possibilities and cognitive power of the visualisation of time spaces by the help of three examples: time space of Hungarian road network, two diferent time spaces of Budapest and its surrounding arca. and ínner city time spaces.
